Hello comrades! I’ve been getting plenty of questions on what’s coming when the rebase releases! Why me? I have no idea BUT I have managed to write tons of transcripts and read between the lines of news, updates, and patches. I’ve gathered most of that information here to help you, personally, prepare for rebase launch date. I should note at the time of this writing it is TBD but I will update it below when we know. (Note: Rebase launch date was announced on 1/19/2026).

Rebase testing server closed as of 1/12/2026.

Rebase launch date: Friday, January 30, 2026!

I’ve tried to organize this information the easiest I could. It’s a lot of information and a bit cumbersome to gather with half of it being hearsay. Note: I’ll be actively updating and changing things until rebase launch.

Rebase Launch Day

HXI staff have shared that the launch day will have lots of downtime, including a client update, smoke tests, and overall instability. Do NOT take the day off, do NOT wait to log in, do NOT make any big plans.

I encourage you to complete whatever weeklies you have BEFORE rebase launch day, if possible. If it’s scheduled on a Friday, make sure to have done your 2x Dynamis, Limbus, ENMs, Uninvited Guests, Spice Gals, Cookbook, EcoWarrior, experience ring charges, and so on before the rebase day. If it launches on a Saturday/Sunday, then prepare to potentially skip a week.

Generally, these types of updates will reset all HNM timers. So if you’re a sweatlord who craves end-game gear, make sure you are logged out wherever said HNM is located.

I also rebase may bring some more hype to the server. In the past, zones such as Lower Jeuno would crash due to player load. I highly encourage folks to NOT be in Lower Jeuno.

It’s no question that this will be quite tedious and potentially have bugs. Save your time-off and go outside and touch grass (or snow).

Quests and Missions

Note that these were communicated endlessly by HXI staff. Please get these done ASAP as they will be the most tedious to do again.

All Quests/Missions will be “reset” if they are not considered “Complete”.

NOT impacted: (please read this before panicking I swear to Altana)

• Lu Shang quest
• Ebisu quest
• Relic weapon quest
• Maat’s Cap quest
• Anniversary quests (all 3)

This means, if you are on Promyvion mission 1-3 and have completed Promyvion-Mea but NOT Holla or Dem, you will have to do Mea over after the rebase. If you started the Selbina Clay quest but it is not in the “Completed” section of your quest log, it will restart.

This will NOT impact any quest or mission in the “Completed” section of your logs. You won’t get a second chance at doing any quest or mission.

After rebase, many quests and missions have reworks. Be cautious when fighting Quest/Mission NMs and doing battlefields. This may extend to ENMs, as well.

Defensive Skills

This was mentioned previously by staff, but there is a known bug with defensive skills where at ~175, players are able to receive skill-ups from lower level mobs. This is your cue to NOW go and cap these skills while you are able.

Defensive skills include: Evasion, Guarding, Parrying, and Shield.

Gardening

Be careful planing seeds and saplings. I’m not familiar with gardening but I did hear it may not carry through the rebase launch.

Player Storage

Player items which are NOT impacted by rebase: Items and Equipment, stored Seals, Fame, and unlocked Wardrobe/Satchel.
If you are worried, take screenshots.

Delivery Box

You can mail Red Jars and Hardcore rewards to alts! Hardcore characters, be cautious when playing immediately after rebase.

Your Delivery Box items will transfer, but there is no guarantee for items lost due to abusing the delivery box storage capacity. If you use it for storage, MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR!

Job Changes

Staff explicitly mentioned that SMN is overall receiving a nerf. This does not include players who have gear, merits, and skills (Summoning Magic). If you were coasting by gobbling Tuna Sushi, you will notice a nerf after rebase.

If you’re a strong SMN already and invested, you will not notice much of a change, if any.

SAM has received a buff, specifically referred to as “stance dancing” related to Hasso and Seigan. Third Eye is also buffed.

DRG Wyverns and their breath attacks have been changed, including the healing, remove, and elemental. Please be aware when using a DRG/mage as a healer.

NIN’s Yonin applies the attack down to elemental wheel spells.

BLMs and the nuke wall – staff have called out potential changes, though at this time they are still working on them without finalized detail. I didn’t want to leave this out just in case.

Elevation Changes

With the rebase, the line of sight mesh comes back into play. You will not be safe hiding on rocks with Despot, Faust, Vrtra, and many other locations. Additionally, you will have to be careful about camping with a party as you may accidentally lose sight of your healers.

HXI staff did note that mobs are immune to this. However, it should also help in Dynamis with mobs standing on stairs or a slope and being “out of range”.

Keep elevation, line of sight, and “barriers” in mind when playing.

Addition: This will also impact kiting, including Dynamis pulling. Movement speed will have more impact in mechanics.

Item Changes

Movalpolos water has been changed with the indicator to “play and find out”.

NPC Interactions

Menus and NPC dialogue can be interrupted. Previously, Chains of Promathia was easy to bypass aggro if you clicked on a NPC to open a menu and teleport. That is no longer possible. Be careful!

Account Security

After rebase, players will be able to two-factor authenticate their accounts. I highly encourage everyone to do this to keep your account safe!
